St. John’s Catholic Church was the 2 p.m. July 23 setting for the wedding of Brittney Lynn Sprague and Seth Andrew Meiwes. The ceremony was performed by the groom’s uncle, Deacon Jim Clements, Dumas, Texas, and the Rev. David Marstall, Wichita.
The bride is the daughter of Raye Sprague, Walker, Mo., and Max Sprague, LaHarpe. The groom is the son of Gene and Karen Meiwes, Iola.
The bride’s grandparents are Gib and Rhoda Harris, Nevada, Mo., and Kenneth and Patricia Sprague, Iola, and the groom’s grandparents are Gertrude Meiwes and Diana Fewins, Moran, and Dick and Vera Fewins, Elsmore, and the great-grandmother of the groom is Gladys Fewins, Savonburg.
Kady Mclntyre, Yates Center, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sara Meiwes, Iola, Dasha Womelsdorf, LaHarpe, and Melissa Ashworth, Columbia, Mo.
Serving as best man was Garen Sager, Moran. Groomsmen were Geoff Meiwes, Chris Weston and Cody Stephens, Moran.
Flower girls were the bride’s nieces, Shayda, Shelby and Shyla Womelsdorf. Speaker was Maggie Meiwes and serving at the guest book were Emily Meiwes and LaRita Tipton.
Providing the music were Moriah Wagner and Lloyd Houk.
Following a honeymoon to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple are at home in Moran.
Mrs. Meiwes is a graduate of Crest High School and Allen County Community College. She will graduate from Pittsburg State University with a degree in history education.
Mr. Meiwes is a graduate of Marmaton Valley High School. He is a partner with his father in their cattle and farming business.
